Instead of riding up and down all those hills through the Pennsylvania a<span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_0\">nd<\/span> Maryland countryside on <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_1\">sunbaked<\/span> roads, we rode west <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_2\">to the<\/span> city of York and <span class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_3\">picked<\/span> up the Heritage Rail Trail which took us south 20 miles to the Maryland state line and then became the Northern Central Railroad Trail in Maryland and took us another 20 miles to <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_4\">Ashland<\/span>. It was really nice riding the easy railroad grades and enjoying all of the shade. I can&#8217;t say I love rail trails or would like to ride them day after day, but it made a welcome respite for us today. <\/p>\n<p>We are at the Hampton Inn in <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_5\">Ashland<\/span> and have about 12 miles to get us <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_6\">back<\/span> onto the <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_7\">ACA<\/span> route in <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_8\">Reistertown<\/span> tomorrow morning, then <span class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_9\">about<\/span> 50 more miles to get us to Jodi&#8217;s sister&#8217;s house in Bethesda, so it looks like we&#8217;ll be finishing up tomorrow. <\/p>\n<p>Allen Freeman<br \/>allen@allenf.com<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.allenf.com\/\">www.allenf.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It was a hot day today with a high of 94.
