Tuesday, July 9: Just as we were about to crawl out of the tent this morning, it started to rain. We waited until it tapered off to a light sprinkle and then broke camp and set out on the road. After about an hour of riding we found a restaurant for breakfast. As we were eating it started raining quite hard, so we lingered over breakfast until the rain finally stopped. It was still heavily overcast, and we were fighting the usual headwinds. We both decided to make it a short day so we are now comfortably ensconced in a room at the Cape Cod Colony Motel in Shelburne. We had a couple of beers at a waterfront pub, an afternoon nap in our room, and then we went back out for dinner. It's now 11:20 and time to get some sleep so we can do it all over again tomorrow.
